Salmon River State Forest ![]() This forest, adjacent to Day Pond State Park, is a diverse year-round recreation area. The Salmon River, which flows through the forest, is known for its excellent trout fishing and its designated fly fishing area. In early spring, this site is the gathering place for white water kayakers and canoers. The historic structures and abundant hemlock cover make hiking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing a pleasant experience. Recommended Activities
