Brazos Bend State Park ![]() Brazos River floodplains, upland coastal prairies, freshwater marshes and six lakes provide abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing, camping, picnicking, hiking, biking, and fishing. Covering 4897 acres, and with 3 miles of Brazos riverfront, the park delights birders, campers, and other outdoor enthusiasts with an observation tower and platforms for wildlife observation/photography of more than 270 species of birds sighted; 21 species of reptiles and amphibians - including American alligator - and 23 species of mammals including bobcat, white-tailed deer, raccoon, gray fox, and feral hog.
