Fort Clinch State Park ![]() Fort Clinch State Park offers camping in the river and the beach campground. The river campground is partially paved with moderately accessible bathhouses. A nearby ramped fishing pier offers a small observation area where visitors can either see dolphins, manatees or submarines or enjoy freshwater fishing. The Beach campground offers a ramped boardwalk down to the beach. Recreational activities include camping, primitive camping, Atlantic swimming, surf and pier fishing, hiking and candlelight tours of the fort. Significant plant communities throughout the park's 1,100 acres include sand dunes, overwash plains, maritime hammock and estuarine tidal marsh. Many of these can be observed from the nature trail at Willow Pond or the paved roadway through the hammocks. These are also prime locations for bird watching and nature study. Recommended Activities
