High Point State Park ![]() High Point State Park is 1,803 feet above sea level, making it the highest point in New Jersey. It is situated along the crest of the Kittatinny Mountains in the northwestern corner of the state. This park has breathtaking views and exciting trails like Ayer Trail, Life Trail, and Monument Trail. High Point Monument stands in memory of New Jersey's wartime heroes. The granite monument stands 34 square feet at the platform and 19 feet at the base of the apex. You'll see impressive views of Pennsylvania, with the ridges of the Pocono Mountains towering in the distance, while Port Jervis lies in the valley 1,300 feet below. The view to the north shows the Catskill Mountains; to the southeast, the Wallkill River Valley; to the southwest, farms and woodlands. It is also possible to see Sunrise Mountain between the Kittatinny Ridge and the Wallkill River Valley, along with the crystal-clear waters of Lake Marcia, the highest lake in the state.
