Kachemak Bay State Park and State Wilderness Park

Kachemak Bay State Park is accessible by plane or boat from Homer, at the tip of the Kenai Peninsula, and is known for its scenic, wild mountain terrain, fjords, and coves. There are primitive campsites and trails to high mountain lakes and glaciers. An extensive trail system winds its way from the beach across fjords, rivers, forests, and ice fields. Interesting birds and wildlife abound: whales, seals, puffins, sea otters, porpoises, bears, mountain goats, wolves, eagles.
