Kohler-Andrae State Park

Kohler-Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, Wisconsin is the home of majestic sand dunes, miles of golden beach, shimmering blue Lake Michigan water, whispering pines, an abundance of wildlife, and recreational activities for everyone. The park is one of the last natural preserves along the Lake Michigan shore, and is open for everyone to explore and enjoy.

For those interested in the wonders of our natural world, Kohler-Andrae State Park offers an endless supply of activities to participate in and trails to explore. Programs sponsored by a dedicated park naturalist are available during the summer to further your enjoyment at Kohler-Andrae. Nature trails, dune cordwalks, biking trails, horse trails, and cross-country skiing trails abound within the park's boundries.

Recommended Activities

  • Hike the "Dunes cordwalk," just north and south of the nature center in the state natural area. Hikers walk on a 2.5 mile "cordwalk" (boards and rope) through the dunes; three lookout points and benches overlook Lake Michigan and a rare interdunal marsh area.
  • In winter, try cross country skiing. The two mile ski trail has flat to gentle slopes and takes you through a variety of beautiful environments.
