Talladega National Forest

The Pinhoti National Recreation Trail winds through this forest of beautiful mountains and streams that the Cherokee and Creek Indians once fought a war over. These rolling mountains are one of the most popular destinations between Atlanta and Birmingham. The forest is divided into three ranger districts the Talledega, Shoal, and Oakmulgee. Talladega National Forest also includes the Hollins Wildlife Management Area and the Choccolocco Wildlife Mangement Area.
