One of the South's hottest fishing areas is 29,500-acre Millwood Lake. A series of boat lanes lead anglers among timber to marshes and oxbow cutoffs - a "tree-filled" fishing paradise. Famous for bass tournaments, the lake abounds in largemouth and white bass, and in spring and fall offers some of Arkansas's best crappie fishing. Summer provides easy catches of catfish and bream. Bird watching is popular with a wintering bald eagle population, flocks of migrating pelicans and ducks in the fall, and a variety of year-round inhabitants. Facilities include 117 campsites, picnic sites, a standard pavilion, self-guided walking trail and bicycle trail.
