Oak Mountain's 9,940 acres span pine-studded ridges and lush green valleys. Here, red-tailed and red-shouldered hawks, as well as black vultures and turkey vultures soar high in the sky above the tranquil waters of Double Oak Lake.

• Take a self-guided tour of the Treetop Nature Trail, a broad, elevated boardwalk that winds through the trees in a secluded woodland valley keeping a lookout for Red-tailed Hawks, and Great-Horned Owls.
• Visit the Alabama Wildlife Rehabilitaion center and demonstration farm for educational programs taught by park staff.
• Explore Double Oak Lake's shore, or swim and fish in the deep, tranquil waters.
