Situated at the head of a steep, wooded valley, this popular camping spot is heavily forested and the only cleared area is the 52-acre lake. A bike trail and a number of hiking trails wind through the park and vary to steep and challenging trails for hearty hikers.

Recreational opportunities at Locust Lake include: camping, playgrounds, boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming, ice fishing and nature activities. Several of these activities are seasonal: whereas, other recreational opportunities are year-round.
