James River Face Wilderness




James River Face Creek Wilderness is located within George Washington and Jefferson National Forest.

The 8,886 acres of this first designated Virginia wilderness encompass splendid Appalachian hardwood forests, the James River Gorge, and a high point of 3,073 feet on Highcock Knob. It adjoins the Thunder Ridge Wilderness.
