French Regional Park

Located on the north shore of Medicine Lake in the City of Plymouth, the 310-acre French Regional Park offers a variety of activities. A self-guided canoe trail takes you through backwaters of Medicine Lake and provides intimate views of wetland wildlife. Outdoor education programs for the public feature such topics as maple syrup making, ospreys, and beaver lodges. Near the Visitor Center is one of the most popular creative play areas in the Twin Cities, as well as a shuttle that runs all summer between the Visitor Center and the beach. Winter brings cross-country skiing, including night skiing along a lighted trail.

Recommended Activities

  • Visit French Regional Park year-round, but when you come in the winter you can cross-country ski through Medicine Lake's snowy paradise.
  • Hike the Lakeview Trail for a brief introduction to the terrain of the region surrounding Medicine Lake.
