Conecuh National Forest

Located on the Alabama, Florida border, Conecuh Nationa Forest is a small area that offers hiking, backpacking, camping, hunting, and fishing. It is often used as a relaxing stopover for snowbirds on their way south to Florida. The Brooks Hines Lake is a great spot for fishing and lakeside activities.Trails wind through the forest for great flora and fauna displays. Magnolia, dogwood, cypress, and holly trees are common.

Recommended Activities

  • Go fishing: Intensive management of several ponds on the Conecuh National Forest provides forest visitors better success in catching largemouth bass and bluegill than in similar unmamaged impoundments.
